I've been bopping and hopping around, with Vampire Weekend's A-Punk blaring away, on the laptop and in my head. It's been playin', playin', playing.
And here, they play for La Blogotheque
Anyway, one of the reason I'm really liking the band is how they pay homage to Wes Anderson, from the futura font on their covers to the videos. Some reviewers have likened them to an aural take on an Anderson film. I'd say I agree.
As an aside, these La Blogotheque videos always fill me with this most wondrous mix of love and envy. Paris is truly beautiful I have to say, it's almost as much a character in the videos as the musicians and the songs they play. Just that opening sequence where the guy strides across the screen, atop the low crumbling brick wall giving us a glimpse of the roofscape, harmonica in hand, filled me with a most painful sort of yearning. Oh well...
