Traveling along the winding Caves Road to get to Lake Cave, which was fascinating of course. Stalactites, stalagmites, erosion, dolines - the only time geography is interesting is when you get to see it for real as opposed to memorizing textbooks. Next, we visited a vineyard and just hung around. Harvest season was over so no tour for us. Nevertheless, there were spectacular views. They also had a big gallery for random visitors like us.

Morning at our cottage (Pixie Mops!), one of the Wyadup Brook Cottages, which was gorgeous with lots of exposed beams and very cozy. Stacy and I snagged the room with the balcony! We trooped out bright and early to the adjoining farm and were delighted to meet and feed the farm animals.

I sneakily went around and took pictures of people in their various bleary, half-awaken states. This is Sarah.

As we continue along the freeway towards Wyadup where we'll be staying, we took all too many wrong turns, but of course, everyone knows those are the best things.

still munching on the fish and chips from Busselton

one of the most fantastic things on the road is when you turn a corner and an extraordinary vista comes into view...we practically leaped out of the car

the views were stunning, stunning, stunning

We had a pit stop at Busselton and spent an afternoon frolicking up and down its jetty (the longest in the southern hemisphere).

The beauty of Australian skies and seas is remarkable

The gorgeously-hued sheds Sarah captured from every conceivable angle!

Stacy got brown sauce all over her hands from the burger!

Charissa and I, she was terrified Shawn would fall into the sea taking our pictures

it was cooold!

the seagulls had a field day watching us fish (but no luck!)

quote

I lean my head slowly to the side, reflect on the camellia on the moss of the temple, reflect on a cup of tea, while outside the wind is rustling the foliage, the forward rush of life is crystallised in a brilliant jewel of a moment that knows neither plans nor future, human destiny is rescued from the pale succession of days, glows with light at last and, surpassing time, warms my tranquil heart.
