One of the places we visited in Hangzhou was the academy where the ill-fated butterfly lovers of popular Chinese story, Liang Sun Bo & Zhu Ying Tai, had studied. Situated atop a hill, the scenery all around is really just breathtaking.
Now open to visitors, the old building houses a spirited 3D model of the sights and activities of the people and students living then.

At the water town of Wuzhen, we traversed narrow lanes, crossed ancient bridges and took a boat ride along canals fringed with weeping willows and flaming sienna-hued trees.
