Our trip to the Great Ocean Road and the Twelve Apostles, Loch Ard Gorge, London Bridge and Bay of Islands was fantastic not only because of the amazing sights that no picture does justice to, but also because we did it completely on our own, relying on public transport, changing from train to buses to train again, all within a day.
The endless fields of grazing cows, the cliffs, the winding road, and the glittering sea - these aren't the things we're used to seeing in the city, and it was hard for many moments to grasp the fact that I was really there, witnessing such beauty.
We also saw a dozen rainbows, and made about as many wishes. Oh, and the pictures below show how the weather switched from a downright gale to brilliant sunshine in the space of a minute while we were at the Twelve Apostles. It was crazy, but we had a good laugh despite our rain-soaked selves.
